These calculations use the running age factors in Table 1 in Fair (2007). They are based on pooling the 800, 1500, 5000, and 10000 meter track events, the 5 and 10 kilometer road racing events, and the marathon. The data are only for men. These age factors should be used for all running events except 100, 200, and 400 meters. The swimming results in the paper suggest that women slow down a little faster than men, which if true, means that the following age factors are a little too low for women. The age factors are: |
