Compute Aging Effects

Background

You can compute below your predicted minimum times by age in various running, swimming, and rowing events, given your previous best time. It does the same for the high jump regarding height and for chess regarding chess rating. Except for the high jump and chess, these calculations use the results in
Fair (2024), "Physical Decline Rates: Men versus Women".
The results for the high jump and chess are in
Fair (2007), "Estimated Age Effects in Athletic Events and Chess".
You should at least skim these papers before computing any predictions to see what assumptions are being made and how the age factors were estimated.

If your event is different from any of the following events, just choose the event that is closest to yours. This will assume that the age factors that obtain for your event if they were available would be the same as the age factors for event you have chosen.

How age graded scores are computed

Your age graded score for a particular race and age is your time age adjusted divided by the world record time age adjusted. You enter your time and age, and the age score is caclulated. The age factors used for the age adjustments are those computed in Fair (2024), "Physical Decline Rates: Men versus Women".
